“presence through the marking of absence”

The title for this week’s blog post quotes Métis artist, Jaime Black, in her description of the “REDress Project,” which has continued to gain national and international attention since 2010. In her short video for the project, the artist talks about the origin of the art installation, the “presence and power of Indigenous women” and the importance of a “platform for voices that are often silenced.”

I hope that you will take a few minutes to watch and share the video (it is two minutes and thirty-eight seconds long).
