Intermission — for a quiet recovery

Very few words. Say very few words. Those are the instructions from the oral surgeon (and I’ll do as she says) to recover from a series of procedures in the coming weeks/months. Recovery (for me) is best when it’s secluded (mostly) and quiet (aside from some music, of course). There will be applesauce and milkshakes (and pain/medication). I’ll catch up on my print magazine subscriptions (yes, I still have some of those) — at present, to Ciel variable and Maisonneuve — calling to me from the lower shelf of the glass coffee table.

Also, if the past is any indication of what to expect, as my physical self takes the reins to do what it needs to do, headspace will open up for me to look at myself and my life, take them apart and put them back together again, keeping what I think is worth the effort and energy, removing what isn’t. A little reconfiguring is a fine thing, now and then, you know?

So, with that, a temporary pause — an intermission — in the blog posts.

See you on the other side.
