Personal grooming alert: this post is about paying someone to take care of your hands and feet. Writing about such things, I feel a little awkward, just as I do when I get a manicure or pedicure, to tell the truth. Someone I don’t know very well, holding my hands and feet for an hour? I don’t know, maybe some part of who I am is always a little bit awkward, what can I tell you?
In any case, moving on … to the charming, circa 1910 building on the corner of Gilford and Marquette in Montréal. The plants on the sill inside the large windows and the natural tones and textures of the decor are what first drew my attention to Primerose. What has kept me returning to them, aside from the quality of the services, is a delicate balance that Primerose manages to maintain. There is that day spa element of we’ll-take-care-of-everything but in equal measure, there’s a very neighbourhood feel. You are at their place. Good to see you, come on in, what do you need?
Open since 2018, they use non-toxic, cruelty-free products. Nestled in the cross-streets just north of Mont Royal and west of Papineau, you may not be likely to stumble across Primerose, you have to know where they are … the next time, in Montréal, you need someone to take care of your hands and feet.
Even (or especially) if you feel a little awkward.
